Around Ovingham

Ovingham is situated on the River Tyne about half way between Newcastle to the east and Hexham to the west. Over the river to the south, across a single-track rickety bridge, is the town of Prudhoe.
There are about 1200 residents in about 560 houses. We have two pubs (the Bridge End Inn and the White Swan) and a well stocked Londis shop which incorporates a Post Office. We also have a first and middle school (Ovingham CofE First School and Ovingham Middle School) which serve the village and surrounding area.
